gutiz restaurant

proudly serving taos since 2004
Gutiz was founded in 2004 by Chef Eduardo Gutierrez who was born in Spain and raised in France. He combined elements of both regions to create the eclectic and flavorful menu at Gutiz. In 2010, when Chef Gutierrez was ready to sell Gutiz, he "kept it in the family" by selling it to employees, Jennifer Peterson and Randy Morris. The kitchen remains under the lead of Gaby Garcia who had already worked at Gutiz for years and was trained by Gutierrez to make his dishes to perfection. Much of our menu is made from scratch. We bake our own bread and blend our own sauces and dressings. We start with quality ingredients, add a little bit of magic to create dishes that will leave your taste buds satisfied.

what people say

  • We actually came back 3 days in a row for brunch. The food is amazing and fresh. Highly recommend the Parisian Crepe. Veggie burger and French Toast were also both very good. The staff is amazing and appreciative of the business. If you are in Taos it would be a mistake to miss this place for a meal.

The food was amazing! Worth the wait! We had the Scrambled Egg Tower and a Croque Madame and they were both excellent. Made friends with people in the line and had some fun along the way. The staff was very attentive but not overly so. Perfection on a Sunday morning in Taos!

  • A great way to start a day! I was in comfort food mood and ordered the Taoseño and it was so good. I finished it all. The couple next to me got the French Toast and I will definitely be back for that. Great service.

Delicious. I got the Taoseño, the French toast for the table, Granola-tastic for the kid, the Creole for the hubs. Everything was well seasoned. GET THE FRENCH TOAST, seriously. Just order one for the whole table (or one for yourself).
